Melissa & Dipesh
Our wedding was held at the Church of St Vincent De Paul and we had a reception dinner at Swissotel the Stamford. Our entire wedding was very special and memorable to us! The most significant and touching moments were when we exchanged our vows. And of course, seeing our families from different parts of the world coming together to celebrate this occasion with us.
Couple name: Melissa & Dipesh
Question: What was the most memorable part of your wedding?
Answer: Our entire wedding was very special and memorable to us! The most significant and touching moments were when we exchanged our vows. And of course, seeing our families from different parts of the world coming together to celebrate this occasion with us.
Q: What were the biggest challenges planning your wedding? Or at the actual wedding?
A: To be honest, the biggest challenge when planning a wedding for most couples are the costs. So I would say before you begin planning, always have a budget. We had to manage this strategically as we had 2 celebrations, one in Singapore, and the other in the U.K. We were also quite particular about food as a large part of the family is vegetarian. It was one of our priorities to ensure that all our guests had something to enjoy. We spent considerable time researching on food caterers who could meet our preferences and budget.
Q:How did your overcome the challenges?
A: Thankfully, we had a very close group of family and friends who aided us by giving tips, suggestions and critical feedback along the planning process so we never felt alone. More than just support on the technical front, they were a big part of emotional support. That always goes a long way.
Q: What was something you wish was done better?
A: Let me tell you, weddings are never 100% perfect. There were little hiccups along the way but every bit and part of that made for a very magical memory, so I daresay I will not have done anything different.
Q: Was there something unique or special you added to your wedding?
A: If you are able and willing to work with a wedding planner, you would not have to stress about all the nitty-gritty bits of your wedding. They are more well-versed with the industry and also should have more resources and vendor contacts. This could also be someone from your family but that will be a big ask!
